Oh What A Night!

Earlier this month Dave and I went on a roadtrip to Saint John, NB for a weekend getaway and all Saturday crop for me and the LCOM girls.  (Yes, my Sweetie is the best Fiancé in the entire universe)

The crop was a great success, Tanya really went all out with the shop set up, food, treats and prizes....fun was had by all!  I'm already looking forward to the next one in March :) 

This crop, I tried something a bit different and brought a smaller bag, with only 3 Studio Calico kits and some extra Sassafras goodies.  I was trying to pack light...I even forgot my scissors and pens (yes Chantal, your pens are safe here at my desk in NS hehe)

8 Layouts later, I think that alone qualifies for a great day!

As you can tell by this last photo, I was beginning to get a few shadows outside so I called it a day.  Hopefully I will be able to get photos of the other layouts soon!  In the meantime, here is my latest for Creative Scrappers Sketch 139

So have you noticed anything different???  Kristine updated my blog again!  I was thinking of having it redesigned, something new and different, but I just couldn't part with the fantastic header she had designed for me last year....so I left it to her to have fun and my oh my, she does not disapoint!  I just love the new look!  Big hugs K!

A few New Year layouts and a Mini!

Here are a few things I've been working on this New Year....Our weekends have been mostly snowy ones, so I've been taking my camera and layouts to work with me in hopes that I can get photos of them during my lunch break!  The days are so short now, its pitch black by 5pm when I get home from work ;)

I was really in a "Sassafras Mood" last week!  I think every project was made with nothing by my Sass stash!  Tee hee some of you have asked me about my stash...one of these days I will take photos of it LOL I can't explain my obsession, it just makes me so very happy :)

Here is the mini I made using an entire sheet of Sassafras Journal Stickers!  I must have about 50 of these sheets, I think this is a great way to put them to cute use :)

2011 Art Journal

Happy New Year Folks!
Time to kick off 2011 with a super fun Sassafras project I worked on over the holidays....My very first "pop up" and certainly won't be my last, this was so much fun to make!  I purchased the class from Leila Bentahar HERE  Check out her shop, she is such an inspiration,  I can't wait to take more of her classes, so fun!

Since I'm such a Sass Junkie, I had lots of Me Likey kickin' around, so I was very liberal with my embellishments and paper usage.  Loving this type of book, made with a combo of paper and box board...and that side envelope, just knocks my socks off!  Its been some time since anyone has really done something that makes me sit back and go "ahhhhhhhh, that's such a cool way of doing things!"  Leila's project class does not disappoint!  (I have no affiliation with Leila aside from the fact that I want to be just like her when I grow up.... I just really loved making this book)

Her class was to make a "new born" book, but since I didn't have anyone in mind to give something like this to I thought it would make a super cool art journal.  A place to jot down any notes or projects that I'm thinking of working on :)
